Luke's first Christmas Presents and a HUGE surprise for me.

Well Luke got all sorts of Christmas presents from Aunt Mary, Cousin Erica, Aunt Joy, and Grandma Pruett (that is a little weird for me to call my mom Grandma Pruett). Here are some pics of Luke's presents. Yes that is Sophie showing off her baby brothers presents!!

For Christmas this year Jason gave me a very thoughtful gift that I NEVER could have guessed (and believe me I had been trying!). He had our wedding invitation custom framed and he designed it himself.

But the biggest surprise came today. Jason went ice skating with my family this afternoon at Viejas while I was at work and he came home with something I thought I would never ever get but he came home with a COACH DIAPER BAG!!!!!!!! I can't believe he got it for me. I love it and can't wait to use it!

21 Weeks

So today I'm 21 weeks. At my U/S 2 weeks ago the tech said that Luke should weigh about 1lb now. I have been feeling him move a lot more often. Yesterday he was kind of crazy! On Sunday morning Jason got to feel him for the first time. I laid on my back and pressed down to see if I could feel him and sure enough I found him and my pressing made him move. I told Jason to press down pretty hard and sure enough he moved again and Jason felt it. Its pretty exciting to feel him moving about.
On Saturday Jason and I found the crib we are going to get. Its more than we wanted to pay but have since found it online for a lot less and are just looking into the online companies selling it for less before we order it. I can't wait to get his room set up.
Today we get to find out if Loralyn is having a girl or a boy. Its going to be a very long day.

Luke

Here is my sweet baby boy Luke. In this picture his hand is up by his face and his little mouth is open. We saw him open his mouth and it was so cute! I love him so much!

19 weeks and a little surprise!

Let me start by saying that my husband decided that for my birthday he would find out what we were having so today was the big day.

Before the U/S I had an appointment with the doctor for my monthly check up. My doctor was out today so we had a guy who actually retired in June but fills in for other doctors temporarily. I drank 32 oz of water before my appointment so that for the U/S I could have a full bladder. The doctor was over 45 minutes late coming to see me. By that time I couldn't sit I was ready to cry and was very mean to Jason who was just trying to be nice. I had to pee like I never had before. It hurt so bad I will never be able to do that again. So the new doc came in and he said that yes I needed a full bladder for the U/S but mine was so full he couldn't hear the heartbeat! He told me he would just let the U/S tech find the heartbeat and that I should go and empty my bladder just a little (now this is the second time they told me this today because the nurse made me leave a very small urine sample). Do you know how hard it is to just pee a little bit? It was miserable. So off I go into the U/S room where Jason and my mom are now waiting with the tech. So I get on the table and she puts the goo on my belly and she puts the probe on my belly and she says that she has never seen a bladder that full. My bladder was huge! She told me to empty it completely. So I cam back empty bladder and the first thing we got to see the little hands moving around which are the cutest hands in the world! The baby was moving around and being cute UNTIL it fell asleep. The U/S tech had me move on my side to get the baby to move and then to the other side. Finally my bladder was filling up a little and she said to go empty it again and jump up and down in the bathroom in hopes of waking the stubborn little thing up. So finally after 45 minutes it finally moved its legs and ITS A LITTLE BOY! Yep we are keeping with the Kaminsky tradition and having a boy. His name will be Luke Benjamin Jay (Benjamin is Jason's Grandpa's name and Jay is Jason's dads middle name). My friend April is having a boy so our little boys will be pals. Can't wait to see what Loralyn has!
Oh yeah the Doctor said I gained 3 pounds this month (which is the first time I gained) and that it was a great amount of weight since weeks 18-26 are when you gain the most (yikes). I was afraid to find out how much I gained since my belly has gotten so big the last couple of weeks.

18 Weeks!

So today I'm 18 weeks! Can't believe how the time is flying by. In just 2 weeks I will be halfway through the whole pregnancy. I can't wait for next week: THE BIG U/S! I can't wait to find out what we are having. I'm still holding out hope that Jason decides to give me a nice birthday present and find out the sex. This week is surely going to fly by at work we are getting ready for our Annual Holiday Open House where we invite all of our clients over for food and drinks. We have to get the clinic clean and go shopping and all that kind of "fun" stuff. Then on Friday we are going over to Ryan and Loralyn's for a little Bday celebration where I think Loralyn is making her YUMMY tacos and I will eat so much I won't be able to move! Saturday will be the Open House and I go to work that morning so I will be there from 7:45 to probably 6:00 :(
Sunday will be interesting. Jason and I are leaving our house at 6am to go Ontario, CA for an Itex convention. Itex is this somewhat bizarre thing (to me) that for example Jason's boss does accounting for people and gets paid in what is called Itex dollars. You then get to use those dollars for services or to purchase things. I have never been but we have $500 in Itex money to buy stuff so we are hoping to find some baby furniture or something like that. We will see how it goes. Then we have a dinner downtown San Diego with a drug rep Sunday night. I already feel tired just thinking about our weekend. Oh well I guess it just makes it that much closer to Wednesday the day I get to find out what this baby will be (assuming the kid cooperates)!

15 Weeks

So I'm 15 weeks now (well technically tomorrow I will be 16 weeks)! We went to the Doctor on Friday and heard the heartbeat again. It was steady at 160 beats per minute, which according to the wives tale anything over 140 would be a girl. We should be having our u/s on December 10 to see what we are having. If my husband wants to get any type of bday present he should just save the money and decide to find out what we are having with me! That would be the best present ever and I wouldn't have to try and keep it a secret. I go back and forth on what I want. I've always wanted a boy first but now I have no idea what I want. The girl stuff so cute! Obviously it doesn't matter we both would absolutely love a boy or a girl.

We went shopping for cribs on Saturday. It did not go well. I wanted one crib while Jason wanted another. Mine is a little more expensive. Oh well I guess we will have to keep looking. On another note the one chair I would really love (a recliner rocker) for the baby room is $700. I realize that is a bit excessive and have to get over that idea :(

Everything seems to be going well. I do this half hiccup type thing about 20 times a day and everytime I do my husband thinks I'm gasping at something bad. It so obnixious. I can't wait to stop that. Jason thinks its some type of indigestion. I have no idea what it is. I also burp so much and so loud. Its so embarrasing but I can't help it. I also pee so much. I can't believe how many times a day I pee. I wake up at least 3-4 times per night to pee. That is really the worst of it for me. I am so fortunate since I know Loralyn is having so many problems with gagging and not being able to eat much. Hopefully all my pregnancies are like this. Oh yeah and my Bells Palsey went away!! All on its own I did not have to take steoids to get rid of it.

Anniversary and Halloween Party

So today is our 1 year anniversary! Can't believe its been a year. We actually celebrated yesterday by going to the restaurant where we got married for dinner. We also got our 1 year anniversary cake from the baker who made our wedding cake. We got the yummy pistachio flavor. Below is a picture of what it looked like before Sophie ran across the table and put one paw right in the center of the cake.

Saturday was Ryan and Loralyn's Halloween party. We had a great time and actually dressed up this year.

Halloween

Last night for Halloween Jason and I set up chairs in our driveway and put Sophie on her leash and passed out candy. It was so much fun. All the little kids loved Sophie and wanted to pet her and she did really well and just let them run up to her. I was nervous that she would not like the baby when it comes but she seems to enjoy kids! By the way we some some girls who couldn't be more than 12 years old were in some of the shortest costumes ever. One of the girls dropped something at the end of our driveway and she bent over to pick it up and I saw her butt. Oh yeah another girl had on a black bra and a see through shirt. I can't believe parents let kids dress like that. I have to think the parents know because I've seen some of those costumes on different websites and they are very expensive so someone had to buy it for them. We were pretty shocked. Tonight we are very excited to be going to Ryan and Loralyn's annual Halloween party. Jason and I are dressing up as Juno and her boyfriend Pauly Bleeker. I will have to take pictures and post them.

I still have Bells Palsy. My left eye is driving me crazy today it keeps twitching away today. Other than the eye and the whole tongue problem I am handling it fine although I do complain a lot. Well I gotta go figure out how to make my belly really big for my costume tonight!

Pregnant

It is official! I'm 13 weeks pregnant! Jason and I heard the heartbeat last week which made it seem even more real than the 8 week u/s. Things have been going so well. I am finally getting a little less tired (and by that I mean I do not need to rush home on my lunch break and take a nap, but still go to bed by 8:30) and feeling a lot better in general. The only problem so far is that yesterday I found out that I have Bells Palsy again. Its a very mild case this time but I do not want to get treatment while pregnant. We will see how long I last. The most annoying part is half of my tongue is numb and I can't taste anything on that side. I just pray that God helps me through it without treatment and soon!

Probably the most exciting thing about my pregnancy is that my best friend (since preschool) Loralyn, is pregnant and due exactly two weeks after me! My friend April (we have been friends since elementary school) is also pregnant and due two weeks before me. Its exciting to have people that I can actually complain to and they know what I'm going through (because sometimes Jason just doesn't understand)! I just can't wait until we all know what we are having and can start shopping together!
