Our fun day

So we did meet up with Loralyn and Rory and April, Tony and Jaylen today at breastfeeding. Today was a full on celebration with prizes and cake at the class so in order to be part of the drawing we had some time to kill so we hung out and took pictures of the babies. I did win one of the prizes!! I won a $25 gift certificate to purchase something from the breastfeeding store. I can't decide on what to get I'm so excited.

This morning I noticed the awful thrush is back. I have been on antibiotics so I knew it most likely would come back and I think I caught it early this time and already had the doctor call in a prescription for the same medication we used that actually worked for him. Hopefully we can get rid of it before our trip.

Luke, Rory, and Jaylen hanging out and having fun.

Rory was staring at Luke most of the time but Luke couldn't take his eyes off the ceiling and wall to flirt back.

Happy Day!

So Luke has slept 3 nights in a row!! Last night I never even had to put the pacifier in his mouth. I'm not exactly sure why all of a sudden he decided to sleep all night but I like it. Also princess Sophie slept with me last night. She hasn't done that in a long time. Maybe she is starting to forgive me for bringing home a squirmy crying little thing. Today is a good day. I get to go to breastfeeding group (hopefully we will breastfeed) and see Loralyn and Aurora and hopefully April and Jaylen. Then Luke and I are going shopping.

14 weeks

So Luke is now 14 weeks old. He has changed so much since we brought him home from the hospital. I finally ordered his baby book so when it came I looked through the pictures and all my notes in my calendar to fill in his book. I love his book. Thanks Loralyn!

Luke has been having a screaming fit for an hour every night at the same time lately. We are not exactly sure what is going on. It isn't his overtired cry and he isn't hungry. Luckily Jason has been home every time and we can take turns with him but tonight Jason has class so hopefully Luke is over that now or it will be a long night without Jay. Luke slept through the night last night! I am not holding my breath. It was most likely a fluke but hopefully not. It took me long enough to get him down last night. He seemed tired when Jay got home from work yesterday around 5:45 so he tried to put him down in the crib but Luke wanted none of that. Then around his really fussy time we gave him a bath. It amazes me how he can go from screaming to smiling the instant you sit him in the water. He got a very long bath last night because we didn't want him to scream. After bath we fed him and then we tried to put him down. He fell asleep for about 20 minutes until he woke up again so him and I went in his room and put on some music and turned out the lights and turned on the little projector that puts images on the wall and just rocked while we looked at the images. He calmed down and was happy so we went to the cradle where he played for another hour before falling asleep at 10:15. He did start to wake up around 2 am but we are trying not to feed him in the middle of the night (unless of course he needs but he really shouldn't need it) sure enough I just put the pacifier in his mouth and he was out and didn't wake up until 5:45!

Today I am very sad. My Aunt/Godmother is back in the hospital. She has pancreatic cancer and in addition to that she had to have surgery a couple of weeks ago to remove her gall bladder and she has had some complications and is now in the hospital. Hopefully they can get her feeling good again. I just pray that God heals her. I want Luke to know her growing up.

First Laugh!!

Today Luke laughed for the first time. It was a small laugh but still a laugh none the less. For the last few days Jason and I knew he was close to laughing because he started smiling and trying to make noise at the same time. I'm so glad he did it while Jason was home. Other than that today was not a very good day. We were supposed to go on a walk with some other mommies and babies and Luke had been grumpy when he woke up but I didn't really think anything of it so we get in the car to go and he starts screaming. I thought once we started driving he would stop but no suck luck and I had to turn around and come home. He would not let me put him down the rest of the day. Thankfully it was a day my mom got off work early and she came and took over holding Luke while I made dinner and picked up the house.

Luke turned 3 months old on Monday and Jason got a half day (because they were so tired from building a huge sand castle for the Imperial Beach sand castle contest so his boss let them off early) so we went to nighttime at the zoo with Chris and Becca. We had so much fun. The animals were very active especially the big Lion. Luke woke up while we were there and got to go in the carrier and see all the animals (although he was more interested in things like wood fences than actual animals). We then went on a long journey to find some place to eat dinner and ended up at a pizza place no one had ever been to.

12 Weeks

Well tomorrow Luke will be 12 weeks old. I only have 5 more weeks of maternity leave. I'm very sad. I don't want to leave him and go back to work. It will be very hard for me to leave him at daycare that first day (and all the rest of them).

Last weekend was a very busy weekend for us. Jason had Friday July 3rd off and so we went up to the Wild Animal Park. It was hot and miserable and we didn't last very long

Saturday we went up to Lake Elsinore for a BBQ at my uncle Mike's house and then we all went to the Storm game (Padres minor league team). Luke had a lot of fun at the game and didn't even sleep while we there. Since it was the 4th of July there were fire works but we didn't want to be in the park to watch them because it could hurt Luke's ears and so we watched from the car and he sure did like them. The next day Jason and I left Luke at home with my mom and went to a Padres game with our friend Lindsay. I had fun but don't think I will be ready to leave Luke again any time soon. Luke was good for my mom except that he didn't nap.

After such a long weekend and not very good naps I started working on getting him on a schedule and we did good most of the week. He actually took some good long naps in his crib. He is probably ready to be in his crib full time but I'm not quite ready yet.

Luke is getting bigger and bigger. On Thursday he weighed 11lbs 3oz. I can hardly believe it. Some of his 3 month clothes are getting a little snug on him. This week our family has been a little sick. Jason stayed home on Tuesday with a fever and cough. On Thursday night I was getting Luke ready for his bath and he felt very warm to me so I took his temp and it was 101.6 then the next morning he started coughing and he even vomited a few times (not like spit up but actual vomit). Saturday morning I woke up with a fever and cough. It was hard for me because Jason had 2 baseball games and I had to take care of Luke all by myself and of course he decided not to nap that day.

Luke got to go swimming for the first time today. He had fun. He likes the water a lot. Bath time is still my favorite time of day because he is so happy.
