Overwhelmed

I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed the last few days. I have been busy at work for the last few months and its been tough to get it all done but all of a sudden I feel like I just closed the books for last month and got all the statements out and credit cards run and now its time to do it all again. Thursday I worked 10 hours and had several interruptions from what I needed to get done. When I got home and walked through the door Luke started to whine. Apparently he hadn't been feeling well that day and when my mom walked in the door 10 minutes before me and he thought it was me he started whining. As soon as he saw it was my mom and not me he started laughing and playing again. Then I walk in and he starts to whine again. I pick him up and ask him if he doesn't feel good and he in very big dramatic fashion grabs his head and moans. He was working me over good! He did have a little fever. He seemed to be fine otherwise and if anyone else was around he was happy playing with them. I just took it like he needed some mama cuddle time so we just cuddled and hung out until Jay came home and our routine of bath, play, and bed commenced. As soon as we put Luke to bed it was time for me to go over my H2O order. I had a party a couple weeks ago and it was my best one yet! I made $180 off of it! The only problem with having a large order is having to go through it all and I give out little instruction cards and write a letter to each customer. I was up until 11:30 that night getting every thing ready for delivery the next day. The next day wasn't much better. I hate the end of the month and closing the books. It is so much work and having only one person in the office and one in the lab does not make it easier. I am so behind. I have been skipping lunch breaks but it makes sad because this is Luke's last week at home before going to daycare and I will miss coming to see him everyday so I would like to be able to see him this week. I really need to come in when the office is closed and I will not have to answer the phone. That takes up so much stinking time!

Luke was not feeling well last weekend. Not to mention the fact that he has pretty much stopped eating and drinking much milk. Now he quit eating almost everything before he started getting sick. He would no longer eat most of the fruits and veggies he used to and pretty much all his normal foods. Luckily he will still eat his pureed prunes because he needs them to be somewhat regular. He has been eating watermelon like crazy. I buy the 2 mini watermelons from Costco and he went through 2 last week. Other than that we are lucky to get him to eat some yogurt and applesauce once a day with the watermelon. I tried to give him some whole grain french toast from Trader Joe's which he normally loves but he just threw it this weekend. I wouldn't really be worried if he was drinking enough milk. The doctor had wanted him to have 24 oz. and he was only drinking 12-16oz so I added in another 4oz during the day and he was drinking about 18oz but now we are lucky to get 12 oz in him. I think he is just such a busy little bee he can't be bothered to sit down and drink a full bottle. The times when he does finish it are when he is super mellow and just lays down in his chair. Other times its a couple ounces down and then he just throws the bottle every time you hand it to him. He has started signing "Milk" sometimes but only if you ask him if he wants it then he will do it. He never has walked up to me and signed for some milk. Another fun thing he is doing is answering Yes or No by shaking his head. Now seriously it is the cutest thing ever. We were shopping the other day and he was getting resltess in the cart so I asked him if he wanted a cracker and he shook his head yes. I asked if he wanted another one when he was done and he said no. Now its not so good when you say should we have chicken for dinner and he shakes his head no!

He is growing up so much. I can hardly believe it!! Its like the last two weeks he has turned from baby to full on kid. Its really funny the things he can do now and he loves his baby einstein video: baby moves. He has mastered the art of peek a boo, waving, clapping, doing all the fun stuff to the song if you're happy and you know it, twisting, shaking, and now his newest thing he is trying to do is jump. Its the funniest thing. I was getting ready one morning and had the video on and heard the jumping part so I came out to see if he was doing it and sure enough he was trying. His "jump'' is more of a bending down and getting back up. So funny because in his mind he is very proud and thinks he is jumping.

He has also taken to putting my headband on. It is so cute. I don't know how in the world he realized what to do with it but he found a headband I bought but had never worn and he put it on his head. I tell him he is so pretty when its on. Its really cute.

I need to get some pictures up but haven't had the chance to upload them to the computer. I would say I will do it this weekend but I probably won't! Maybe I will get to it next week when I officially go down to 3 days a week at work. Then again maybe I won't because I also started working from home for Jason's office. Between that and Luke not sure how much extra stuff I will get done. Hopefully one day I can catch up on everything and not be so overwhelmed!

12 month check up

Wow did I really never put up his stats for his 12 month visit. Don't know how I could have forgotten that. So we went to the doctors and while we are waiting in the room (my mom came with us) Luke was running around like a crazy happy little guy. he weighed exactly 20lbs the guy didn't believe it and took it 3 times and every time the weight was the same. He was also 29.25inches. He is 35% for height and 15% for weight. Still a small guy! The doctor was impressed at how well he walked but a little shocked that he doesn't point to stuff he wants. I had to tell him this kid does stuff on HIS own time. You can't make this kid do anything he will do it if he wants to. I have been trying to get him to clap since he was 8 months old. I showed him how and told him what it was, I clapped his hands for him, and every time he does something good I clap and say YAY. Well he has never done that. Today I get a call from my brother while I'm at work that Luke was in his high chair and Kyle was listening to a speach on the computer and every time the crowd clapped so did Luke. Kyle said he couldn't see the computer at all but every time he heard it he would start.

He has been working on more top teeth too. Its been a nightmare. He is very naughty when he doesn't feel good. Last night I realized he has also cut another one on the bottom. That will put him at 6 teeth with another one on top coming. The teeth come out a lot quicker on the left side of his mouth. I think its so funny how easy it is for one side and the other side takes FOREVER.

We are officially going to Vegas in June. I'm really excited. We are going for a Kiwanis convention and have talked Chris and Becca (and I really mean twisted Becca's arm) into going! We are even going to have a baby sitter in Vegas! I'm very excited and can't wait to get out of town for a few days!
